ASME.org's Top 5 Podcasts of 2019

The ASME Techcast, our podcast series, took off in popularity in 2019, fueled by discussions with industry experts working on cutting edge technology and opining on the health of engineering itself. One of the most popular podcasts, on the 50^th anniversary of the first Moon landing, looked back at engineering the Apollo 11 lunar module by the engineers who worked on it. Another delved into the development of a supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle that promises to cut costs and emissions. Former British Petroleum CEO John Browne sat for a discussion of his vision for engineering. Augmented and virtual reality were popular topics throughout the year, illustrated by our podcast on fitting the technology to a hardhat, allowing workers in the field to superimpose plans and drawings over the physical jobsite.
