Gas Turbine Users Symposium to Be Held in Houston

NEW YORK, Sept. 2, 2010 – ASME will hold the Gas Turbine Users Symposium (GTUS) 2010 this Oct. 4-7, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

Aimed at practitioners engaged primarily in the operation and maintenance of gas turbines, the symposium will cover air treatment, rotor life extension, controls and diagnostics, and risk analysis, among other topics. Including tutorials and panel discussions, GTUS also will address inlet filtration, heat recovery steam generators, and long-term service agreements of gas turbine systems.

“The goal of ASME Gas Turbine Users Symposium 2010 is to provide practical information on a variety of challenges in the global industry, as well as foster an environment for attendees to network, interact, and exchange insights,” said Thom Eldridge, senior rotating equipment engineer at Shell Projects and Technology, Houston, and chair of the event.

GTUS 2010, organized and managed by the ASME International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI), will co-locate with the 39th Texas A&M University Turbomachinery Symposium.
