Six Workshops at ASME Turbo Expo 2010 to Provide Hands-on Training
NEW YORK, March 9, 2010 – The ASME International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI) has announced six instructional workshops for engineers and other technical professionals in the gas turbine field.
The workshops, to be held June 12-13, 2010, at the Scottish Exhibition and Convention Centre, Glasgow, Scotland, will provide hands-on training for professionals seeking to broaden their knowledge and proficiency in various gas turbine topics, including maintenance and repair. The training will take place in conjunction with ASME Turbo Expo 2010.
The titles of the workshops are: Thermal Spray and Other Coatings for Gas Turbines - Selection and Application for OEM and Maintenance & Repair, Failure Investigation of Gas Turbines, Gas Turbine Aerothermodynamics & Performance Calculations, Pipeline Engineering for the Gas Turbine Industry, Basic Gas Turbine Metallurgy and Repair Technology, and Film Cooling & Technology for Gas Turbines.
ASME Turbo Expo 2010, beginning on June 14 and continuing to June 18, will bring together engineers and researchers from around the world to discuss recent technology advancements in engine design, materials, operations and maintenance, noise reduction, alternative fuels, combustion diagnostics, and micro-turbines, among many other topics.
IGTI organizes and manages Turbo Expo. The institute, headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., supports the exchange of information focused on improving the design, manufacture, operation and maintenance, and environmental impact of gas turbines, turbo-machinery, and related equipment.
