Training and Events

Training, committee meetings, conferences, webinars, and other events are a vital part of the understanding and strengthening of ASME’s standards development processes, usage of standards, and learning about the technologies and processes that drive industry.

Training and Events

Training, committee meetings, conferences, webinars, and other events are essential to understanding and strengthening ASME’s standards development processes, usage of standards, and learning about the technologies and processes that drive industry. Standards are living documents, which require continued attention and maintenance in order to promote public safety, while reflecting best industry practices. In addition, these events can be held concurrently with Conformity Assessment outreaches such as Certification 360 Workshops.

  • Training is offered to help industry and the general public learn about how standards are developed and revised, and how they affect everyday life. Training enables people to better understand how they can contribute or benefit from standards, and can come in the form of modules, webinars, handbooks, in-person, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Committee meetings are critical to the standards development process. Where industry, regulators, academia, and other people of interest gather to ensure standards change with evolving technology and world around them, committee meetings can come in the form of in-person, teleconference or web-based.

Committee Meeting Status in regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
ASME is monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation to ensure the health and safety of our meeting and conference participants, as well as our staff. We will also be staying on top of the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as the situation progresses.

For information on specific committee meetings and events, please contact the appropriate staff engineer of the associated committee meeting.

  • Conferences are held to gather, disseminate, and nurture discussions about standards, and how they apply or are affected by industry. These events ensure that information and communications are centralized and available to all interested/effected parties. These events can come in the form of symposia, panel sessions, and workshops.
