ASME Baltimore Section: The Engineers Behind The Moon Walk
February 16 6:00PM - February 16 7:00PM, 2021
16 February 6:00 - 16 February 7:00, 2021
Description
Please join the ASME Baltimore Section as we host a FREE Zoom webinar featuring two local retired mechanical engineers, Jay Laskin and Bill Kincaide for a discussion of their early engineering experiences designing and building the spacesuits and portable life support systems that allowed men to walk and work in space, and then eventually on the moon. During this 1-hour historical webinar, you’ll learn about the systems and tools the two local engineers designed, built, and tested with the early astronauts, and some of the trials and tribulations they had to endure. Both Engineers will share their experiences (and some great photos) working on the historic space program and discuss the engineering tools available at the time versus what we have today.
