Description

Join us on Thursday, April 27, at 6:00 for a special presentation at the Francis Tuttle Engineering Academy at 3500 NW 150th Street, Oklahoma City. Between 6:00 and 7:30 PM we will tour the Academy and then enjoy the senior showcase. During the showcase, high school seniors will explain their capstone engineering projects displaying a working prototype along with the process by which these projects were created and refined. These projects are part of a Project Lead the Way class, a program dedicated to providing STEM education to students planning to pursue engineering. At about 7:00, we will be treated to a demonstration and presentation about the robot designed by the students for this year’s First Robotics competition. The robot was sponsored by our ASME group. The robotics team of about 25 students and their sponsors, Cody Sims and Bryan Kitzrow, competed in three regional robotics competitions this year. In early April, their team, the Roboducks, won the Green Country Regional in Tulsa. They will be traveling to Houston on April 19 to compete in the World Competition. During the presentation, we will find out how they fared in Houston as well as learn how they built and designed the robot.
