ASME Columbia Basin Section: FutureME 2023 Conference at Washington State Tri-Cities
April 29 8:30AM - April 29 2:15PM, 2023
29 April 8:30 - 29 April 2:15, 2023
Description
Join the students of Washington State Tri-Cities on Saturday, April 29 from 8:30am to 2:15pm as they present their keystone projects. The students have been working all year on various projects and will be presenting their findings at the East Auditorium at WSU-TC. There will also be a keynote presentation by Steve Ghan on "How Engineers Can Help Prevent Climate Change" at 11:30am. Global warming is being driven by emissions of several different greenhouse gases from a wide variety of human activities, so there is no single “silver bullet” solution to climate change. Many climate solutions that reduce emissions or remove carbon from the atmosphere have been identified. The challenge for engineers is to make them economically competitive and scalable to make a big impact on the global carbon cycle. This presentation will provide a context that will inspire engineers to provide the climate solutions that are needed now and through the rest of this century. The public is welcome to attend.
