As a continuing commitment to provide our members and engineering community with the most up to date industry related technical data, ASME Metro Detroit Section is hosting a Virtual event via Zoom. It will show how Industry 4.0 is evolving and driving innovation in the mechanical and manufacturing industry! Brian Breuhan, ASME Metro Detroit board member & Early Equipment Management Lead for Stellantis (previously known as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) will be giving the presentation. Brian has worked in manufacturing, engineering & design for over 20 years. Briefly, Industry 4.0 has been defined as “a name for the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies, including cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, cloud computing and cognitive computing and creating the “smart factory”. It will be also cover how following the Industry 4.0 philosophy will make it possible to pull together many simultaneous data gather processes, allowing early involvement of stakeholders to make critical decisions. The presentation will talk about how the following (9) digital industrial technologies form the structure of industry 4.0: (1) Advanced Robotics; (2) Additive Manufacturing; (3) Augmented Reality; (4) Simulation; (5) Horizontal/Vertical Integration (cross company data integration); (6) Internet of Things; (7) Cloud Computing; (8) Cybersecurity; and (9) Big Data & Analytics (full evaluation of available data).
