ASME Mid-Continent Section: Genetic Engineering for Metal: The Interplay of AI/ML, Microstructure Control, and Alloy Design
February 10 12:00PM - February 10 1:00PM, 2022
10 February 12:00 - 10 February 1:00, 2022
Description
Monthly Seminar Series: Join the ASME Mid-Continent Section on February 10th with speaker Ayman Salem, PhD, CEO of Materials Resources LLC, Dayton, OH. For many decades, conventional design and manufacturing of metallic parts have been built on standard processing methods and locked properties for the feedstock found in various catalogs and databases. Thus, new metallic alloys can take decades and millions of dollars to be used in aerospace and other critical application. Learn how AI/ML is used to guide process control to design and invent new alloys to fulfill the freedom of design. Dr. Salem earned his B.Sc. (1993) and M.S. (1998) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University and Ph.D. (2002) in Materials Science and Engineering from Drexel University.
