Join the ASME Mid-Continent Seminar Series on March 9th for a presentation, "Precision Livestock Farming can Help Economical and Sustainable Animal Farming” by Tomas Norton, Associate Professor Faculty at KU Leuven, Belgium. Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) represents the application of modern Information and Computer Technology (ICT) for the real-time monitoring & management of animals. PLF systems can be important tools to complement and support the skills of the farmer in the monitoring and assessment of animal health and welfare. Tomas Norton is leading a research group in Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) in the Division of Animal and Human and Health Engineering (group of M3-BIORES) at the KU Leuven. He holds a PhD in Biosystems Engineering from University College Dublin (Ireland) and is a Fellow of both the Institute of Agricultural Engineers (FIAgrE) and the International Academy of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (FiAABE).
