Description
Join ASME Philadelphia in welcoming Lauralyn McDaniel, ASME's Industry Manager and leader of Metrix's AM/3DP strategy and engagement advisory groups and community initiatives in a lively discussion on Medical 3D Printing. With more than three million patients directly impacted by the benefits of 3D printing, there are still challenges beyond technology to realize the full potential. From patient-specific models and guides and production of serialized devices to 3D printing-enabled tissue fabrications, several organizations are working toward an infrastructure that addresses quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, clinical evidence, workforce development, and more. Building the platform that has the confidence of users and developers, the goal is to improve the process, find new applications, and impact even more patients with the benefits of 3D printing. A little history to understand where we are today, the application areas, the many activities taking place, and just some of the innovations from the last year will be discussed.
