ASME South Texas Section: Ethics, Sanctions & Anti-Corruption in the International Oil & Gas Industry
November 17 5:30PM - November 17 8:30PM, 2022
17 November 5:30 - 17 November 8:30, 2022
Description
Join the South Texas Section for a presentation on November 17th: Ethics, Sanctions & Anti-Corruption in the International Oil & Gas Industry. The emergence of a vast practice of international sanctions is adding multiple challenges to regulatory and ethics compliance, in addition to the already growing enforcement of anti-corruption laws. More sanctions might be expected, changing dynamics in the energy supply chain and affecting energy security. Thus, the current events are leading to a high awareness period of balancing geopolitical events and transnational economic transactions, given their impact in the global scheme of balance of power. Our guest speaker is Professor Julián Cárdenas. He is a Research Professor at the Univ. of Houston Law Center where he teaches the classes Lex Petrolea, Transnational Investment Law and Arbitration, and Diplomacy and Geopolitics of Oil and Gas.
