Video: Technology and the Integrated Grid
Stricter emission limits are forcing U.S. utilities to move away from coal as a primary fuel to generate electricity. American Electric Power Executive Vice President Mark McCullough says coal will continue to fade unless more research produces cleaner burning technology. To meet the demands of the integrated electric grid, he sees natural gas and renewables gaining traction and the need for an educated workforce to maintain grid operations.
