ASME Briefing on AI and STEM Workforce Development
ASME and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) will host an in-person congressional briefing in conjunction with the Senate Artificial Intelligence Caucus this week. The briefing titled, “AI and National STEM Workforce Development Needs,” will feature science and technology leaders at the intersection of research, education, technology, and workforce development policy, while exploring why Congress and federal agencies must invest in AI tools for workforce development.
The briefing will also explore what institutional resources are needed to advance U.S. competitiveness in AI-enabled technology applications across varying levels of education and how federal agencies are approaching the intersection of emerging technologies and workforce talent. Panelists on the agenda include:
