Last Chance! Jan. 31 is the Deadline for ASME Federal Fellowship Applications

Only one week remains to submit your application for an ASME Federal Fellowship! For the 2023-2024 cohort, applicants can choose to apply for opportunities in the U.S. Congress, the Department of State, and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).

ASME has maintained a presence in the U.S. Congress for 50 years, with our first fellow serving in the Senate Commerce Committee half a century ago. In 1981, ASME placed its first OSTP Fellows—an exciting new opportunity for Fellows to get an inside view of the Executive Office of the President and gain first-hand knowledge of the decision-making process at the top level of our government. Most recently, ASME is proud to welcome the Department of State to the Federal Fellows network. This new opportunity will allow Fellows to support the agency on issues at the intersection of engineering and diplomacy.

Fellowships run from September through August each year. All applicants interested in applying to the ASME Federal Fellows program must be in possession of a graduate degree in a STEM discipline by the start of their fellowship.

To learn more about the Federal Fellows experience, check out ME Magazine’s recent interviews with former federal fellows Jaclyn Brennan and Michael Woodmansee.

Applications close January 31, 2023. To learn more about the ASME Federal Government Fellows program and apply, visit our Federal Fellows page.
