August Edition of Policy Impact

August Edition of Policy Impact

Welcome to this month's edition of Policy Impact, where we expand our focus on engineering policy beyond the U.S. to include global developments. Our mission is to be your trusted resource for all things related to engineering policy, particularly as it affects our ASME community.

This edition covers a range of important topics, covering ASME and other SDOs' successful opposition to the Pro Codes Act, ASME's comments on the European Commission's evaluation of Regulation 1025/2012, the Administration's draft roadmap for emerging technology standards, the ASME Foundation's grant for an engineering apprenticeship program, and a recent hearing on American manufacturing investments.

Our Government Relations team proudly represents mechanical engineering in Washington, D.C., and globally, addressing critical issues at the intersection of engineering and policy. From advocating for the CHIPS & Science Act to supporting international standards development and advising on AI advancements and STEM workforce strategies, we are committed to advancing the mechanical engineering profession. Please share this newsletter with others in your network who would like to stay informed about the latest developments worldwide. And be sure to follow us on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/company/ASME-Government-Relations

Together, we’ll advocate for policies that enable ASME members to keep doing what you do best: solving the world’s greatest problems through science, technology and engineering.
