Olimpio Torres Jr. is currently employed at the US location of a multinational corporation. He contributes at this NRC licensee Fuel Cycle Facility as a QA Subject Matter Expert. Olimpio also serves as the Deputy ISO 9001 Management Representative and the Nuclear Industry Assessment Corporation (NIAC) Representative. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Energy Technology Professor at a junior college. Mr. Torres has over 35 years of experience in multi-disciplinary/industry quality assurance/control (over 25 years have been in the NRC and DOE-regulated nuclear industry).
During his career, Mr. Torres has also held several positions, including Multi-site Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, Corporate Safety Manager, and Corporate Procurement Manager. Olimpio has been qualified as a classroom instructor and conducted training throughout his career. Olimpio is a veteran of the United States Army/Army Reserve, for which he specialized in Supply Management and Logistics.
Mr. Torres is a Doctoral candidate in Strategic Leadership and has earned a doctoral-level Executive Certificate in Strategic Leadership, both at Liberty University. He holds a Master of Science degree in Quality Assurance from California State University, a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Quality Assurance Management, and an Associate of Science degree in Business Studies from the State University of New York. Through the American Society for Quality (ASQ), he is a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), and a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA). Through the American Welding Society (AWS), he is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). Through Exemplar Global he is a Certified Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015) Lead Auditor. Finally, through the Project Management Institute (PMI), he is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
