Infographic: Construction Joins the Electric Market

Construction equipment generally is powered by diesel fuel, but that is changing as manufacturers begin to produce electric- and hydrogen-powered versions of haulers, excavators, backhoes, and more.
Construction is a noisy, disruptive, and often dirty activity, enabled by a fleet of equipment powered by diesel fuel and gasoline. Excavators, backhoes, haulers, and other common pieces of equipment are following cars, busses, and trucks in the move to reduce emissions as well as noise. For now, their numbers remain low but the global market for electric-powered heavy and light equipment is growing. Here are some examples of electric- and hydrogen-powered equipment finding their way to construction sites.
