Video: Designing Sustainable Energy Systems

Providing clean and affordable energy to rural villages in developing countries is an engineering challenge that will persist for several decades. This challenge is not new, yet many development initiatives have failed and our current progress is negligible in the wake of population growth. Dr. Nathan Johnson, assistant professor, Arizona State University, suggests that to create sustainable and impactful energy solutions, our design strategies must focus on the energy system and not just the technology.
