Mohinder Nayyar is an internationally recognized specialist in piping, valves, materials and codes and standards. As a senior principal engineer at Bechtel Power Corp, his work spanned all phases of design, construction, operation, maintenance and in-service inspection at more than 100 major power plants. Working with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and ASME, he helped develop new codes and standards following the accident at Three Mile Island.

Mr. Nayyar is author and editor-in-chief of Piping Handbook (6th and 7th editions, 1992) and Piping Databook (2002).

Mr. Nayyar earned his master's degree in history/international relations at Agra University in India. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and a bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry and mathematics at Agra.
