Speakers Sought for Commercialization of Emerging Technologies (COMS) Conference
There’s still time to apply to be a speaker at the 2018 Commercialization of Emerging Technologies (COMS) Conference — the annual conference that brings together experts from industry, the investment community, academia and government to focus on commercialization of emerging technology with special emphasis on micro- and nanotechnology.
COMS 2018, which is presented by the Micro and Nano Technology Commercialization Education Foundation (MANCEF), is a hands-on, practical meeting that is intended to help entrepreneurs bring their research to market, find new customers, and interact with investors, suppliers and other business people. The conference will take place from Sept. 24-26 at the Suisse Majestic Hotel in Montreux, Switzerland. ASME has collaborated with MANCEF on past activities and ASME’s Alliance of Advanced Biomedical Engineering (AABME) recently signed a formal collaboration agreement with MANCEF.
This year’s conference will focus on several areas that have a direct impact on the commercialization of a variety of emerging technologies, with an emphasis on Industry 4.0 and smart factories. COMS organizers are particularly interested in presentations related to the following topics: customized manufacturing; new manufacturing processes, including additive fabrication and new materials; sensor systems, such as new sensor devices, connectivity, data analytics, and environmental and infrastructure monitoring; digital health and mobile health; collaborative robots (cobots) and the future of robotics; smart networks; and the commercialization of emerging technologies.
Authors who are interested in presenting their work at COMS 2018 should submit a speaking proposal to the conference organizers by May 18.
