AAPI Heritage Month
AAPI Heritage Month
In May, ASME celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month by recognizing the contributions of AAPI individuals to US history, culture, society, and engineering.
In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, ASME is showcasing the unique perspectives and experiences of AAPI individuals in the engineering field, while highlighting the pioneering work of AAPI engineers who have broken down barriers and made significant contributions to the profession. Their stories speak of what inspired them to pursue a career in engineering, the paths they took to achieve their aspirations, and their advice for those following in their footsteps.
ASME strives to create a more inclusive and equitable profession. We stand with organizations like the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) in supporting the advancement of AAPI individuals in engineering. We also recognize the contributions of AAPI individuals within our society, volunteer network and our own organization.
ASME is committed to providing a platform to amplify the stories and experiences of AAPI individuals in engineering and to fostering a dialogue that promotes progress in our mission to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We believe that engineers have the power to shape the future, and we are committed to ensuring that the engineering profession reflects the rich diversity of our world. We recognize the importance of celebrating the achievements of AAPI individuals in engineering and are dedicated to creating a profession where all can thrive.
