Welcome ECLIPSE Class of 2024-2025

The 2024-2025 Early Career Leadership Intern Program to Serve Engineering (ECLIPSE) has kicked off! Let's extend a warm congratulations and welcome to this year's interns.

ECLIPSE stands for promoting and celebrating long-term leadership development and diversity within its ranks. It's a commitment to nurturing the careers of promising early career professionals. Throughout the program, interns are paired with dedicated advisors and senior volunteer coaches, guiding them through their journey at ASME. They dive into meetings, workshops, and training sessions designed to hone their leadership and management skills, crucial for both professional and personal growth. Plus, there are ample networking opportunities, allowing interns to connect with each other and senior Society officers to explore how the ASME experience can shape their career paths.

We are excited to welcome the following talented interns who will serve the various ASME business units:

Paul Adeola Adedeji is the 2024-2025 ECLIPSE intern for the Section Engagement Sector. He is an energy specialist at the University of Johannesburg’s Process Energy and Environmental Technology Station (UJ PEETS). Paul earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence into utility-scale wind and solar resource assessment, and energy systems optimization. Paul has just completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship under the Global Excellence and Stature (GES) Award, and he is also a Y1-rated researcher under the National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa. As a certified energy manager (CEM), Paul has extensive experience in strategic energy planning and renewable energy consulting, stakeholder engagement, and energy system innovation. He led the development of energy strategies and plans for the largest district in South Africa and special economic zones (SEZ), and he currently leads similar projects for other districts and an SEZ, a project funded by the USAID-SAEP. He has served as an advisory board member for the energy workstream of Musina Makhado SEZ. He has led the development of energy policy brief and reviewed the same for government parastatals. He serves as an Academic Editor for International Journal of Energy Research. Paul joined ASME in 2021 after presenting at the Power2021 Conference. He has been contributing to annual ASME Power conferences, learning from the V&V 60 Guideline Meetings, and assisting with reviews of manuscripts in the Power division. As an ASME ECLIPSE intern, he seeks to develop resources and support professional sections and student sections and in ASME at large.
 
Radhika Dharmadhikari is the 2024-2025 ECLIPSE intern for the ASME Board of Governors. She has been an active student leader and early career engineer in various committees within ASME since 2017. As an early career engineer and a proactive committee member over the years, Radhika’s dedication earned her the esteemed Arthur L. Williston Medal in 2022, recognizing her significant contributions to the organization. At the ASME Cummins Student Section in Pune, India, Radhika’s leadership was pivotal in organizing the first ever all-women EFx event. Her commitment to fostering leadership skills among her peers led to her selection for the Student Leadership Training Conference in 2019, held in Salt Lake City, USA. Radhika continues to serve as an active member of the global ASME Early Career Engineer Programming Committee, a Member-at-Large (MAL) for the Student Leader Training Conference team, and is among the founding members of the ASME India Program Development Group. In her professional role, Radhika is a Design Engineer at Becton Dickinson’s Technology Campus in Bengaluru, India. Her expertise spans sustenance engineering and innovation for single-use hypodermic syringes and needles. As an INCOSE-certified ASEP Systems Engineer, Radhika’s passion lies in the medical device sector, where she aspires to make significant contributions.
 
Gemma Iruegas is the 2024-2025 ECLIPSE Intern for the Technical and Engineering Communities Sector. She is a dynamic professional excelling in the technical sales area within the solar energy sector. Currently based in Cambridge, MA, she serves as a Partners Manager at Bright, where she helped establish and currently runs the partnership program. Gemma's adept management has notably exceeded goals showcasing her ability to drive substantial growth in a highly competitive environment. Gemma holds an MBA from Hult International Business School with a STEM focus in Business Analytics, complemented by a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Universidad Panamericana, where she engaged in pioneering research on nanotechnology applied to neural embedded systems using IoT. Her educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering, with a minor in Global Energy Projects. She also has a solid background in building automation systems as an Application Engineer with EMBA Group in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Gemma's commitment to the professional community is evident through her extensive volunteer work with ASME, where she has held multiple esteemed roles, including her selection as an ECLIPSE intern. In 2017, her leadership and dedication were recognized with the Charles T. Main Student Leadership Award (Gold).
 
Marko Mendoza is the 2024-2025 ECLIPSE Intern for Standards and Certification. He is a highly motivated mechanical engineer with a passion for ensuring efficient and safe operations in the Oil and Gas industry. Currently, he serves as a Control Room Specialist at leading Peruvian company TGP, playing a critical role in delivering over 1.28 billion SCFD of natural gas toward powering Peru. In this role, he demonstrates expertise in energy data analytics and digital transformation, resource allocation and process optimization, guaranteeing the seamless flow of natural gas, developing data-driven solutions that optimize energy systems and creating a more sustainable future. Marko is a dedicated ASME volunteer, currently leading the Peru section. He actively seeks opportunities for continuous learning and is excited to participate in the ECLIPSE program. Through this program, he aims to deepen his knowledge of ASME standards and codes, fostering stronger collaboration within industry, regulatory institutions, and the global engineering community.
 
Abdulrahman Samy is the 2024-2025 ECLIPSE Intern for the VOLT Academy. He is a professional engineer with five years of experience in the field. Currently, he works as Quality Management & Sustainability Engineer at Elsewedy Electric, and he previously worked at ECG – Engineering Consultants Group in Cairo, Egypt. In these roles, Abdulrahman has demonstrated his expertise in quality management and leading sustainability projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing and Production Engineering from the Modern Academy for Engineering & Technology in Cairo. Abdulrahman's dedication to professional growth is evident through his active involvement in the ASME community since 2015. He founded the Modern Academy Student Section, providing a platform for engineering students to collaborate and learn. As the Student Regional Chair (SRC) for the Middle East and Africa Region, he successfully organized events and fostered connections among 40 student chapters. Abdulrahman served as a member at large (MAL) for 3 years in the ASME Student Section Enterprise Group. He also served as the Content Creation Co-Lead at ASME Student Leaders Training, contributing to the development of future engineering. All these contributions were recognized with the ASME Charles T. Main Student Leadership Honorarium in 2018.

Enakshi Wikramanayake is the 2024-2025 ECLIPSE intern for the Student and Early Career Development Sector. She is a Thermal Engineer at Axiom Space based in Houston, Texas, working on thermal management and design of the first commercial space station. Previously, she worked as a Thermal Science Consultant for Exponent Scientific and Engineering Consulting working on fire and explosion root cause investigation. Enakshi is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas. Enakshi completed her Bachelor‘s, Master’s and Ph.D. degrees at The University of Texas at Austin in Mechanical Engineering, where her research specialized in condensation heat transfer enhancement for industry applications. Throughout her graduate school career, she has participated and presented at several ASME IMECE and Summer Heat Transfer Conferences, supporting the Heat Transfer Division (HTD) K-8 Committee as a reviewer and session Co-Chair. Through the ECLIPSE program, Enakshi hopes to create opportunities for early career engineers, both in academia and industry, to build their network and grow their professional careers.
