ASME International Gas Turbine Institute To Offer Training Workshops

NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2011 – The ASME International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI) will hold a one-week training program on topics relating to turbo-machinery in Hamburg, Germany, Nov. 7-11, 2011, and in San Antonio, Tex., Feb. 27-March 2, 2012.

Organized by Southwest Research Institute in conjunction with IGTI and Helmut Schmidt University, the courses offered in Hamburg will include Introduction to Gas Turbines and Centrifugal Compressors, Machinery Performance Testing and Troubleshooting, Root Cause Failure Analysis of Gas Turbines, and Rotor and Blade Dynamics. Participants will also be able to take an optional tour of the Lufthansa Repair and Overhaul Center.

The same topics will be covered in San Antonio, except Machinery Performance Testing, which will be replaced with Field, Factory Testing and Dynamics. For more in-depth course descriptions and to register at either location, visit site: International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI).
