"Catching The Sun": Webinar On Concentrated Solar Power In The ASME Energy Forum
Members of the Media are Invited to Participate inMarch 28 Event at ASME's EnergyForum
NEW YORK, March 26, 2013 - A webinar on concentrated solar power will take place on March 28, 2013, on the ASME Energy Forum. The webinar, titled Catching the Sun, is the second in a yearlong multi-media series in the ASME Energy Forum, which explores renewable and alternative energy sources and their related technologies. Free registration is available at ASME's EnergyForum.
Concentrated solar power systems use mirrors and sophisticated tracking technologies to focus sunlight, which is converted to heat to generate electricity via steam turbines. There are a number of leading technologies that have been successful in globally producing clean and sustainable energy.
There will be three presentations by individuals from companies that are on the forefront of commercialization of concentrated solar power technologies. The presenters are Binyamin Koretz, Director of Strategic Planning and IP at BrightSource Energy; Robert Cable, Plant Manager at Nevada Solar One, and Sarah Fafard, Technical Sales Manager for the Americas at Areva Solar, Inc.
In addition to webinars, the ASME Energy Forum encompasses multi-media podcasts, videos, tutorials and articles. Leaders in the energy field offer insights on topics ranging from hydrokinetics to wind farms. The next four webinar topics scheduled for this year include waste-to-energy, wind power, fuel cells, and hydraulic fracturing.
“The ASME Energy Forum brings together thought leaders to offer perspective on emerging technologies that are shaping energy markets in the 21st century,” said Thomas Loughlin, executive director of ASME. “As demonstrated by the recent webinar on hydrokinetics which launched the ASME Energy Forum, there’s never been a more exciting time to be an engineer.”
