ASME Foundation Secures Apprenticeship Grant

ASME Foundation Secures Apprenticeship Grant

The ASME Foundation has been awarded a substantial grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to develop a nationwide apprenticeship program for entry-level engineering technician positions. The nearly $4 million grant will help improve and expand Registered Apprenticeships in the U.S. The foundation will collaborate with the Stevens Institute of Technology, SimInsights Inc. and the National Institute for Industry and Career Advancement to launch programs that connect workers from all backgrounds to high-quality training and placement opportunities in manufacturing, clean energy, supply chains, semiconductors, and nanotechnology. This is an important step in building up the engineering workforce, one of ASME’s core goals.
