Apply Today to be an ASME Federal Fellow
Are you interested in the intersection of engineering and public policy and looking to build your professional resume? Consider applying to become an ASME Federal Fellow! As the first engineering society to grant its members the chance to experience the federal government firsthand, ASME’s Federal Fellowship is a unique opportunity to utilize your engineering expertise in a new way. The program grants you a unique set of skills that many fellows have used to advance their careers in public policy, academia, industry and beyond.
Since 1973, ASME has supported over 150 fellows in their career journeys as they have provided technical expertise to policymakers. As the U.S.’s global leadership faces more challenges than ever, ASME is proud to offer this opportunity to leverage your expertise, learn new skills and broaden your professional experience. Our federal fellows fill an important knowledge gap by providing vital support to key policy advisors on engineering subjects related to energy, manufacturing, national security, and more.
ASME sets the standard by providing a competitive stipend, new agency partnerships, and valuable networking opportunities for its fellows. We anticipate great momentum in preserving our successful legacy and thank our fellows for their contributions to this mission.
Who Should Apply: Fellowships run from September through August each year. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, a member of ASME at the time of application, have at least five years of professional experience and an advanced engineering degree.
