Register Now for the ASME Verification and Validation Symposium
The meeting will offer attendees the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with leading experts involved in the verification of codes and solutions, simulation validation, and the assessment of uncertainties in mathematical models, computational solutions, and experimental data. Participants will also have the chance to share and gain insights into innovative ways of enhancing technologies to improve modeling, simulation capabilities, and more.
This year, the V&V Symposium will incorporate 25 technical sessions, challenge and workshop problems, and panel discussions including a thought-provoking and interactive discussion focused on the theme “Verification and Validation: the Unanswered Questions.”
The event will also feature plenary presentations from several prominent V&V experts. On Wednesday morning, Ben Thacker, director of the materials engineering department at Southwest Research Institute, will present the first of the sessions, titled “Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification – Are We Making Any Progress?” The second plenary session, “Validation and Predictive Capability of Imperfect Models with Imprecise Data,” will be presented by Scott Ferson, director of the Institute for Risk and Uncertainty at the University of Liverpool. The Thursday Plenary session will focus on the application of VVUQ in the medical community. Anita Bestelmeyer, director, Corporate Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), BD Technologies and Innovation, will begin the session with her presentation, titled “Strategic Utilization of Modeling to Impact BD.” Tom Coleman, professor emeritus of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, will then address the question “Validating A Model Of Integrative Human Physiology — Difficult or Impossible?” during his presentation.
Registration for the V&V Symposium is $650 for ASME members and authors and $750 for non-members through May 14. Student registration is $300 for ASME student members and $350 for non-member students until May 14. One-day registration is also available.
